- Well now, if both modems support V.FC and V.34, then they SHOULD select
- V.34 - of course everything doesn't always do what they are supposed to
- do, but there's a chance here that if you disable V.FC on your modem you
- will end up with a 9600 or 2400 connection, whatever the highest common
- speed is after V.FC is removed from the running.

- If the modems both have V.34 and were somehow selecting V.FC anyway,
- that should fix it, but that sounds strange.
